Online applications are invited for the KARTET-2025. This test is a minimum qualification for candidates aspiring to be teachers for classes 1 to 8 in schools across Karnataka.

Eligibility for Paper-1 (Classes 1-5)

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

Note: A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC / ST / Category-1 / Differently Abled candidates.

Eligibility for Paper-2 (Classes 6-8)

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
  • OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year B.Ed (Special Education).

Note (Pursuing): As per NCTE, a candidate who has been admitted to any Teacher Training Course (TTC) and is "pursuing" the course is eligible to appear for the TET examination.

Note: A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for SC / ST / Category-1 / Differently Abled candidates.

Certificate Validity:

The KARTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime.

Candidates who have already qualified may appear again to improve their score.

Important Instructions

  • Applications must be submitted online only via the official website.
  • Admit cards must also be downloaded from the website. No physical admit card will be sent.
  • Carefully check all details before final submission. No changes can be made after submission.
  • The OMR sheet will be evaluated by computer. There is no provision for re-evaluation or re-totaling.
  • Passing KARTET is an eligibility test only. It does not guarantee recruitment.
  • Candidates must not bring any electronic devices (mobile phones, calculators, smart watches) into the exam hall.
  • Use only a Blue/Black ballpoint pen for shading the OMR sheet.
